Ngila Estate

Established in the 1920s, Ngila Estate is one of Tanzania’s most renowned coffee farms. Since 1992, it has been managed by the Meyer family, who have continued to invest in quality, sustainability, and long-term stewardship of the land.

Nestled on the edge of the Ngorongoro forest in northern Tanzania, the estate spans around 100 hectares and borders a protected forest corridor that supports local wildlife and natural migration routes. Native shade trees, seasonal reforestation projects, and the nearby Ngila River all contribute to a healthy ecosystem and the distinctive growing conditions that shape the coffees produced here.

Beyond coffee, Ngila is deeply connected to its community. The estate provides stable employment, fair working conditions, access to healthcare, education, and ongoing training for its team. Many employees have been part of the farm for decades, while the harvest season creates additional opportunities for hundreds of seasonal workers from the surrounding area.
